The History of Volvo in Born
Volvo bought a one-third shareholding in Dutch carmaker DAF in autumn 1972 and the last Volvo Car to be built in the Netherlands left the plant in Born on 19 may 2004. The intervening 32 years spannend a chapter in industrial history marked by many exciting events. Apart from the development and production of attractive, high-quility cars, the history of Born was also one of solid economic development, in which the Dutch government played a key role. This is also the story of NedCar – a cooperative venture which was unique in the automotive industry.
A book that includes three languages: Dutch, Swedish and English.
